NEWS (delayed by a couple of hours) Before the site gets overhauled, I'd like to link to Pillars of Faith; the art is great and they linked to me, so give them a visit if you haven't already. (Thank you.) New layout coming very soon, I promise. I'm not making this up. Of course, I'm not working on it yet, but I'm not not working on it. HISTORY - It's wearing armour modeled on various sources; the helmet was copied sans plumage from a Roman relief sculpture. The armour is bronze, anachronistic even for the ancient Romans, who used steel at the time of the Fall; it was probably a family heirloom when the elves swept over the farm. The patterns are of my own invention. ART Now this really lived up to expectations. The ghoul, and especially its armour, came out just right. I flood-filled the basic bronze in, coloured all the little gold etchings, and went over the top with a tuned, textured colour replacer. The ghoul itself was heavily influenced by Soul Reaver's Kain, amidst a host of other undead classics; it's still human in frame, but evolving into something more suited to the negative energy spirit that animates the corpse. Does anyone else remember Kakistos from Buffy the Vampire Slayer? He was so old that his hands were cloven. (Series 3, Faith's first appearance, if you're interested.) GAME Yeah, the skeleton fight was easy. So I threw Alraud against something a little harder. That's a ghoul versus a single 1st-level character. |
