NEWS
Egads, an update being written before 1400 hours local time! What a miracle of the modern age! Yes folks, despite Evan's presence (which would normally entail using vast quantities of time to bring him up to speed on all things important, like the demo for MoonBase Commander or just what exactly happened to Warren on Buffy), I've managed to make excellent time on today's comic and have it ready for upload ON TIME! Three cheers for me! (The comic doesn't look too bad either.)

It's true. Evan, the mythical Third Player is in town. The Trio is complete (although I don't think we'll team up and take over our city just yet). And the chapter should be coming to an end very soon. After reading today's comic, you'll understand why.

HISTORY
No matter how sturdy a construction, if you punish it enough, eventually bad things happen. Like this.

Once again, a big shout-out to John Chronakis for supplying the Greek imperatives. In this case, he's provided us with Guen's quick incantation, pronounced 'EC-rhy-kson'. It means 'Erupt!' (in the imperative; the intransitive, also provided, is ekrhgnumi, which I would put into Symbol font if I knew how, but as I don't I'll use the font's Roman equivalent letters. And the letters don't match.). As a backup I got him to send me 'shatter' as well, which comes out as qruyon (imperative) or qruptw (intransitive), pronounced 'THRY-pson' and 'THRY-pto' respectively.

And, in regards to my comments about 'funky Danish characters', JDB sends the following: The Danish alphabet consist of 29 letters. The first 26 are the same as in the English alphabet, the last three are Æ,æ,Ø,ø,Å,å, in that order. Actually the last one Å,å, was introduced in 1947, before that the Danes used AA,aa, to create the same effect. I've also got pictures of a Danish keyboard, which is slightly different to a 'standard' USAmerican keyboard; it's got a few different characters on it and instead of an 'ALT' key to the right of the spacebar has a sort of 'alternate ALT' used to type the third characters on some keys, similar to a French keyboard such as the one Exile just got.

ART
You know, I think the art in this one represents a few more leaps forward. I'm not too happy about the way Guen's throat came out in the first panel, but the use of shadows in the second panel should distract you long enough to forget about it, and the third panel... well, it's not as hard as it looks. I don't actually colour individual blades of grass; instead, I draw out long 'strips' that are more or less straight, and define their top and bottom with very sharp zig-zags. Then I just select each strip in The GIMP with the Fuzzy Select tool (my best friend) and put a linear blend gradient from top to bottom. I went over it in the Shadows layer, but shadowed the bunnies separately. (You did notice the bunnies, right?)

Oh, and I've decided to raise the 'ceiling' on picture filesize to 200Kb. Most of my recent works have been more complex and unfriendly to JPG compression, so I'm going to compress them less. This should be good news for everyone but my service providers, whose bandwidth I'll be hogging. So sorry, keenfolks, my public needs me.

GAME
At last... we know her name. But is it too late? Stay tuned to find out...
